Version 3.0 (draft) · Effective date: 2026-10-06 · auroradigita.com
Aurora Digita ('Aurora Digita', 'the Platform', 'we', 'us', 'our') is a South African-owned, multi-service digital platform operating from auroradigita.com and its associated subdomains. Aurora Digita was created with the guiding purpose of making quality digital tools, education, and income-generating opportunities accessible and safe — with particular care for child safety, data privacy, and support for economically disadvantaged users, including pensioners and first-time digital creators.
Trading / operating name: Wovelna trading as Aurora Digita
Legal entity / registration number: Sole Proprietor / K2018311875
Registered address: 195 Green Street, Mayville,Pretoria,Gauteng,South Africa,0084
Contact email: admin@auroradigita.com
Website: auroradigita.com
Aurora Digita operates as a family of connected services under one platform, each accessible via its own subdomain:
Nexus Biblioteek (nexus.auroradigita.com) — a code and component library where registered creators ('Freelance Developers') browse, upload, and share reusable app components, templates, and educational resources, and where platform role applications and role management take place.
PCT Chatroom / Chatty (chat.auroradigita.com) — a structured, multi-model AI chat workspace used for project coordination, coding assistance, and content development, billed to registered users via an in-platform credit balance.
App Specification Service / Appspec (appspec.auroradigita.com) — the platform's client-facing quotation, project-tracking, and payment service. A prospective client receives a quotation from a Freelance Developer, tracks project progress, and receives payment instructions (our bank details and a unique reference code) through this service. The full content of this subdomain, including its displayed quotation terms, forms part of the applicable terms for that specific project.
Aurora Digita Akademie (planned, academy.auroradigita.com) — a future curriculum-aligned educational platform for learners, built around child safety and data protection principles. Not yet payment-enabled.
Equipment / Resource Store (planned, equipment.auroradigita.com) — a future store for physical and digital items relevant to learners and creators on the platform. Not yet payment-enabled.
Not all services listed above are payment-enabled at all times. Section 4 below specifies exactly which items currently accept payment, and how payment is made.
Users must be able to form a legally binding contract under South African law, or have the consent and involvement of a parent/legal guardian, to register an account.
Where a service is directed at children (notably the planned Aurora Digita Akademie), account registration, payment, and data provision must be carried out by, or with the verifiable consent of, a parent or legal guardian, in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ('POPIA').
Each user is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials and for all activity conducted through their account.
New accounts default to the most restricted access level available (a 'pending' state) until the applicable payment step below is completed. Access is only widened by an explicit, verified action — never granted by default.
Aurora Digita reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, applicable law, or the platform's child-safety principles.
All payments to Aurora Digita are made by manual EFT (bank transfer) into Aurora Digita's business bank account. Aurora Digita does not currently use a payment gateway and does not accept card payments, so we never receive or store card details. Each payment must carry the unique reference code shown to you on the payment screen for that specific payment. The table below lists every current and near-term category of item for which payment is accepted.
Payments are matched and confirmed by hand by an Aurora Digita Master Admin, once the funds reflect in our bank account and the reference code has been matched. Confirmation is therefore not instant, and may take longer outside normal working hours and during our weekly rest period.
Access or progress that depends on a payment (for example platform access, or the start of a project phase) is only granted after the payment has been confirmed — not when you make the transfer.
A payment that arrives without a reference code, or with one that does not match, is held as unallocated until a Master Admin has matched it manually to the correct payment. This may delay confirmation. Please always use the exact reference shown.
A payment may not exceed the amount currently due for the phase or item it is made against. Where a payment looks like a duplicate, it is blocked until a Master Admin has explicitly confirmed it.
Corrections to confirmed payments are always made by recording an opposite (reversal) entry, approved by a second Master Admin. Financial records are never deleted.

For payments made against an Appspec project quotation, a portion of each payment is due to the project's Freelance Developer. This section describes, honestly and currently, how that amount actually reaches the Freelance Developer. Every payment is received by hand into Aurora Digita's own bank account, and no portion is automatically routed to anyone at the moment of payment.
85% to the Freelance Developer — the independent creator/developer who quoted and builds the project.
10% to the Aurora Digita Universe Trust — a community and platform development fund.
5% retained by Aurora Digita for platform maintenance and hosting costs. This 5% is fixed and applied identically across every project.
Together, the Trust allocation (10%) and the Platform maintenance allocation (5%) make up Aurora Digita's total 15% share of each project payment. These are two internal accounting categories of the same overall Aurora Digita share, tracked separately for transparency; they are not held in separate bank accounts.
Note on the project-specific NDA & Service Contract: these Terms & Conditions describe Aurora Digita's platform-wide rules. Every individual Appspec quotation additionally generates its own NDA & Service Contract, naming the specific Client and Freelance Developer, once quotation details are entered in Appspec — this project-specific document is agreed by all three parties (Client, Freelance Developer, Aurora Digita) before work begins, and does not exist as a separate, generic page since its content depends on the specific project. It applies these same Section 5 payment terms to that project.
Aurora Digita holds each confirmed payment until a clear, verifiable trigger has occurred. This protects both the client and the Freelance Developer: money is not paid out for work the client has not yet approved, and a client's legitimate refund is not complicated by funds already paid to a third party.
Release per phase: the Freelance Developer's 85% of a phase payment becomes eligible for payout once the client has approved that phase on the project's tracking page. Money paid in advance stays held until the phase it belongs to is approved.
Approval deadline: If the client does not respond within 14 calendar days of the date on which the Freelance Developer submitted the work for review, the phase may be deemed approved. A Master Admin will first check the project's tracking record and may then approve the phase on the client's behalf. The client will be notified of this approval."
Payout schedule: eligible amounts are paid by Aurora Digita's Master Admin by direct EFT to the Freelance Developer's own bank account, by hand, at the end of a weekend where possible, otherwise on the 15th and on the last day of the month. Amounts are not paid out individually per transaction.
Each payout is recorded against the specific project it relates to, carries its own payout reference, and every payout action is logged in Aurora Digita's internal, append-only administrative audit record.
Referral rewards (Section 6) are paid on the same schedule.
Aurora Digita's own 15% share (Trust + Platform maintenance) is recorded as two accounting categories and reconciled monthly, based on that month's confirmed income.
Aurora Digita's 15% share is applied towards the operation of the Platform, including hosting and security, manual payment handling and reconciliation, and the approval and record-keeping processes that protect both parties to a project. It also covers the contribution to the Aurora Digita Universe Trust.
All services described in Section 4 are delivered digitally — there is no physical shipping. Delivery works as follows:
Service |
How it is delivered |
Confirmation record |
|---|---|---|
Appspec Project (custom app/website build) |
The Freelance Developer delivers the completed project directly to the client (e.g. a download link, hosted access, or transferred files), and then marks the project as delivered/available on the project's tracking page. |
The Freelance Developer's 'mark as available' action is timestamped and logged in Aurora Digita's internal administrative audit record. This creates a record that the Freelance Developer has taken responsibility for delivery, should a dispute arise later. The client can then view/download the completed project via their project tracking page. |
Nexus Biblioteek / PCT Chatroom access (R120 self-registration) |
Access is granted electronically once the payment has been confirmed (see 4.1) — there is nothing further to physically deliver. |
The account role change (to full client access) is timestamped and logged in Aurora Digita's internal administrative audit record. |
Because delivery is confirmed by the Freelance Developer (who bears responsibility for actually getting the completed work to their client), Aurora Digita's role is to provide and preserve the record of that confirmation — not to independently inspect or guarantee the delivered work's quality, which remains a matter between the client and the Freelance Developer under the applicable project quotation.
The R120 self-registration access fee described in Section 4 does not involve a Freelance Developer at all, and is therefore never split — 100% is retained by Aurora Digita as the platform operator.
Registered users who hold the 'Freelance Recruiter' role may share a personal referral code. When a new user registers using that code, a reward (currently R40.00) becomes payable to the referring Freelance Recruiter once the referred registration and its associated R120 access fee are confirmed. The reward is paid by hand on the payout schedule in Section 5.2. This is an internal reward paid from Aurora Digita's own share of revenue — it is not an additional charge to the referred user and does not affect the price they pay.
The referral reward is exclusive to the Freelance Recruiter role. Freelance Developers do not receive a referral reward for clients they bring to the Platform; a Freelance Developer's income is earned exclusively through the project quotations they complete, as described in Sections 4 and 5.
If the client cancels before work has started on the project: the client receives a full refund of any amount paid. Aurora Digita bears any bank charges on the original payment and on the refund.
Cancellation after work has started: Payment for each project is made as a deposit, followed by three equal phase payments. Each phase payment is one third of the project price remaining after the deposit. If the client cancels after work has started, the Freelance Developer is entitled to fair compensation for the work performed up to the date of cancellation, assessed from the project's tracking and milestone record. This compensation consists of the deposit, the full payment for each phase already approved, and [a fair proportion of the payment for the phase in progress / the full payment for the phase in progress]. Any amount the client has paid beyond this compensation will be refunded to the client.
If a project is not delivered by the Freelance Developer: the Freelance Developer's share of any phase the client has not approved is withheld pending confirmation that the work has in fact been delivered (see 5.4). Aurora Digita remains neutral in any dispute over delivery — see 7.2 below.
Where a cancellation request is submitted, Aurora Digita's Master Admin reviews and processes the applicable refund or compensation manually, in line with the rules above, by EFT. Aurora Digita does not take over or complete an incomplete project on the Freelance Developer's behalf.
Aurora Digita's role in any dispute between a client and a Freelance Developer is that of a neutral platform operator, not an arbiter of the underlying work. As a default position: if work has genuinely not yet started, a clean refund (per 7.1) applies; if work has genuinely started, the compensation rule (per 7.1) applies. Aurora Digita may request evidence of project status (e.g. the project's tracking/milestone history) from either party before processing a refund or payout.
The R120 annual self-registration access fee is non-refundable once access has been granted, except where required by South African consumer protection law, or where the payment was made in error or due to a technical fault of the Platform.
Equipment store purchases, once activated, will follow standard consumer protection timelines for physical/digital goods as applicable under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
Users may not use the Platform to upload, generate, or distribute unlawful, harmful, or child-endangering content.
Users may not attempt to circumvent payment, security, or age-verification mechanisms, including attempting to gain Freelance Developer-level or client-level access without completing the applicable payment or approval step.
Content and components uploaded to Nexus Biblioteek must be the user's own work or appropriately licensed for redistribution.
Aurora Digita reserves the right to remove content or suspend accounts that breach these terms.
Freelance Developers retain ownership of the projects, content, and components they build or upload on the Platform, subject to the license and delivery terms displayed in the applicable project quotation, which grant the client the rights described in that quotation once the project is paid for and delivered, and grant Aurora Digita the right to host, display, and process payment for that content on the Freelance Developer's behalf under the revenue split described in Section 5. Aurora Digita's own platform code, branding, and design remain the property of Aurora Digita.
Account information: name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form, never in plain text).
We do not accept card payments and never receive or store card details. All payments are made by EFT. When you pay, the payment appears on our bank statement, including your name and the reference you used. We record the payment reference, amount, date and status against your account.
Where we pay out a Freelance Developer or Freelance Recruiter, we keep the bank details they supply (account holder, bank and account number) solely to make those payments.
How long we keep these records
Contact details: We delete these one calendar year after your subscription expires, if you have not renewed it.
Bank details of Freelance Developers and Freelance Recruiters: We delete these one calendar year after their subscription expires, if they have not renewed it.
Usage information: platform activity such as sessions, uploaded content, project quotations, and referral relationships, used to operate and improve the service.
Where the planned Aurora Digita Akademie is used by a child, information relating to that child will be collected and processed only with the consent and involvement of a parent or legal guardian, and used solely for the provision of educational services to that child.
To create and manage user accounts, match and confirm payments, and make payouts.
To operate core platform features (the code library, chatroom, project quotation/tracking service, and referral program).
To communicate with users about their account, transactions, or changes to these terms.
We do not sell personal information to third parties. Information is shared only with service providers necessary to operate the platform (e.g. our bank for receiving and making payments, and, where a user actively uses the AI Chatroom, the relevant AI service provider — currently Anthropic — for that conversation only).
Passwords are stored using industry-standard one-way hashing. Access to the underlying database is restricted to authorised platform administrators. Users may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal information at any time by contacting us at the support email above, in accordance with their rights under POPIA.
Aurora Digita treats the protection of children's personal information as a foundational design principle, not an afterthought. Where the planned Akademie service processes information belonging to a child, this will be done only with appropriate parental/guardian consent, limited to what is necessary to provide the educational service, and never used for marketing directed at the child.
The Platform and its services are provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis. To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, Aurora Digita is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the Platform. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability arising from gross negligence or under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
Aurora Digita may update these Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Payment Policy from time to time. The current version will always be published at the URL below, together with its effective date. Continued use of the Platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
